Deans Auto Electric based in Kaiapoi has expanded to ensure that customers’ needs are met and all the auto electric requirements are completed in a timely manner so it causes minimal inconvenience.
A brand new purpose-built workshop measuring 14 metres by 18 metres now gives the team at Deans Auto Electric more space to work on vehicles and an additional bay allows for increased vehicle capacity, minimising downtime/delays for clients. Another important feature of the new building is the increased height of the building allowing the team to work on trucks under cover without delay due to inclement weather.
Constantly investing in the latest technology and diagnostic equipment allows Deans Auto Electric to work on the latest cars, but still remaining true to their roots they also cater for the vintage or classic cars which are owner Dean Inwood’s not so secret passion.
Deans Auto Electric just don’t provide auto electrical services or investigate computer diagnostic issues on private and commercial vehicles. Their scope of work expands to agricultural machinery, jet boats, caravans, mobility scooters and “anything really that’s got four wheels and a motor” according to Tracy Inwood.
Dean’s Auto Electric also provides a mobile service which can be contacted 24 hours a day for off-site work, including on-farm call outs, commercial fleet jump starts and road side support. There are two service vehicles in Kaiapoi and one in Amberley and the team will answer your call between Redwood (Christchurch) and Parnassus, north of Cheviot, and inland to Broomfield and Balcairn.
Dean’s Auto Electric is owned by Dean and Tracy Inwood who have been in business for 22 years with the last 16 years at the 136 Courtenay Drive site in Kaiapoi, serving the North Canterbury community.
Being an approved Battery Town agent for over 10 years and the advancement in the battery industry meant additional showroom space needed to be factored into the new building, that would accommodate and display the large selection of batteries kept in stock and other automotive needs that may be required.
Battery Town batteries have a nationwide warranty of two years and people who purchase a Battery Town battery during August 2016 will go into the draw for a luxury five-star escape to Fiji.`
Dean and Tracy have a philosophy “We don’t sell you a battery unless you need one. It’s about checking the charging system, if you think it’s your battery, and that service is free of charge”
Being proactive for our clients is important and we ask that clients or prospective clients is to consider calling us as auto electricians first, the reason being is we can immediately advise if it is a mechanical or auto electrical issue saving you both time and money .
The business, which includes Amberley Auto Electric, is a finalist in the North Canterbury Business Awards in the technical and services category and can be voted for in the People’s Choice Awards.
Tracy Inwood believes “We offer a good, old kiwi service of making sure we listen to our clients. We don’t look at people as a cash cow – it’s about providing a honest service.”
